“Viet Nam in the 21st Century”
The biannual Cornell Voices on Vietnam Speakers’ Series is delighted to announce this semester’s event on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 from 4:30-6:30 PM, at the Philip Lewis Auditorium, G76 Goldwin Smith Hall, featuring H.E. Nguyen Phuong Nga, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Permanent Representative of Viet Nam to the United Nations.
Since the end of the Cold War in 1991, Vietnam has maintained the second highest growth rate in the world, but it has also had to encounter and overcome many new foreign policy challenges. In her talk entitled “Viet Nam in the 21st Century,” the Ambassador will discuss the work of Vietnam’s Permanent Mission to the UN as well as Vietnam’s broader foreign policy. She will focus in particular on new foreign policy challenges facing Vietnam today, including the territorial dispute in the South China Sea, environmental diplomacy, and international trade and cooperation. The talk will be followed by an extended Q&A session.
Please join us on November 15, 2016 from 4:30-6:30 PM, at the Philip Lewis Auditorium, G76 Goldwin Smith Hall. Free and open to the public. For accommodations, please contact VOVCornell@gmail.com.
